Mr. Porcupines has put up a spectacular fight, but is sadly out of units. We battle as long as you like. But, Mr. Porcupines, are you aware of the toll this is taking on the brave men, women, and animals in the forces of your allies? I present here evidence of their exhaustion: Battle! A group of 1 units loyal to Acanthopis arrives at the Region Diop-61! A force of 5 units loyal to BoldlyGo(TI) are available to defend. Uh-oh: Shots are fired! ... The attackers are victorious! My friend, they just don't want to fight any more! -- Acanthopis ====================================================================== PE-WJ-Diplo [Bold Porcupines]: Snakes Everywhere Date:Thu, 09 Aug 2007 04:08:52 +0000 To reply, log in at http://www.powersedge.org/?Page=Login or use your newspaper form. Snakes, EVERYWHERE. Everywhere a snake! It's like a children's song run amok in a land of perpetual replication: "A-can-tho-pis had a farm, e-i-e-i-o. And on his farm he had some snakes, e-i-e-i-o. With a hiss-hiss here and a hiss-hiss there, here a hiss, there a hiss, everywhere a hiss-hiss A-can-tho-pis had a farm, e-i-e-i-o. And on his farm he had some snakes, e-i-e-i-o. With a hiss-hiss here and a hiss-hiss there, here a hiss, there a hiss, everywhere a hiss-hiss A-can-tho-pis had a farm, e-i-e-i-o. With a hiss-hiss here and a hiss-hiss there, here a hiss, there a hiss, everywhere a hiss-hiss..." Well, you get the idea. I mean, look at it - there are snakes on more than 1 in every 5 regions in the world! There are *THOUSANDS* of snakes. If the poor Mongoose League wasn't running itself ragged trying to keep at least some of the world free of snakes, there would easily be TWO THOUSAND snakes! All of this would be much simpler if the snakes would occasionally try to eat themselves, but NOOOO, they only eat smaller creatures, BoldlyGo, and the occasional oversize thesis from Professor's academia -- although at least the latter generally gives that snake enough indigestion to keep it from multiplying for a few days. The problem is that the poor snakes just don't realize that if they move into ALL the regions, then there won't be ANY food left for them, and the poor things will all DIE a very horrible 5-turn death by starvation. Not fun. Although I trust Boldly and Kashka will find a way to armor themselves and make out with a TON of snakeskins to sell on the black market back home, when they finallly teleport back out of this world. But the rest of us will all be dead. Including the poor snakes, although they at least will die with their bellies full. Except that porcupines really don't taste good! -- BP ====================================================================== PE-WJ-Diplo [Acanthopis]: snakes everywhere! (This is intended to protect the privacy of other players.) ====================================================================== Don't you worry, Mr. Porcupines! We won't eat everyone! And we're cold blooded, so we don't need nearly as much food as you think... I don't like your idea about the Boldlies. Maybe we should try to eat all of them before the end of the world....just in case....Yes, I think that is a good plan... just in case. Oh, and with those theses? YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW! I have so many snakes sitting around unable to move because they have an undigestable book in their tummies, that if professor only knew where to look he's have a slaughterfest. Luckily, we won't tell him! And-- here's the funny thing because I never thought I'd say it--if you take the time to prepare them right, porcupines are actually pretty darn tasty! OTOH, did you know that we still have seven porcupines fighting with us from that original set of troops that you gave us long ago? Most we sent home when things got very bad between us, and 4 were killed in action, but those last seven are doing extremely well. One is even a Major! Anyway, I just wanted to put your mind at east on the barren earth thing. -- Acanthopis
