There are really just 4 members -- Porcupines, MacBook Pro, Academia, and myself ... and technically you have to put the alliance initials after your nation name, so apeloverage isn't really in and (MLmore) would be a different alliance, so no rules have been broken. We just picked the 4 biggest nations to put together to try to meet the 2/3 requirement to stop the world from ending. It's no slight against apeloverage or BoldlyGo that they weren't invited and if we can get the number of nations with 10 or more regions up to 15, I'm sure we'll try to add one of them into ML. For now though, if you guys could remove the ML-related markings from you nation and leader names, that will cut down on the confusion. Just to be clear though, all non-ML nations are still very welcome to help us make sure SA doesn't end the world. Peace and Mongoose grease, Ben ====================================================================== PE-WJ-Announce [Moderator]: 5-turn clock Reset: game on! Date: Thu, 15 Feb 2007 05:46:47 +0000 Announcement from the Moderator to All Leaders: The SA alliance controls 123 regions. The ML alliance, consisting of the 4 nations which properly put ML in their "Nation" names (Bonanza ML, Porcupines ML, MacBook Pro ML, and Academia ML), has 93 regions. The victory rules required the SA to control at least 3/2 as many regions as the next-largest alliance, in order to complete the 5-turn clock. This is not currently the case. Therefore, the 5-turn clock is reset, and the game continues! -- Power's Edge, http://www.powersedge.org/ P.S. I don't think I've ever seen so many battles in one turn where the attacker is defeated! ====================================================================== PE-WJ-Diplo [BoldlyGo]: The more the merrier Date:Thu, 15 Feb 2007 23:29:04 +0000 To reply, log in at http://www.powersedge.org/?Page=Login or use your newspaper form. I'm a bit of a sticker for rules etc, I mean being a deputy editor means you have to be sure of things like that and It occured to me that the four biggest of the anti SA had best join the ML and any more might cause some confusion. So I put MLmore just to show solidarity. But of couse my old mate Ocker started TI a long time ago and I was in it then so I might as well rejoin. I have this funny feeling that this may bring back painful memories to a certain gentleman whose name begins with A and ends with s so I wont go on about it any more. ====================================================================== PE-WJ-Diplo [Acanthopis]: Boldly Date:Fri, 16 Feb 2007 02:33:20 +0000 To reply, log in at http://www.powersedge.org/?Page=Login or use your newspaper form. Direct email replies do not go to the sender. (This is intended to protect the privacy of other players.) ====================================================================== Hey, by the way, I did want to say this. Last turn, Mr. Monkey sent a message saying: "Can I join your alliance?" So, I said to him, "Hey, Monkey, didn't you just attack me with 300 hairy apes? Hm...That's an odd thing for a potential alliance member to do....Hm... Well, look, you can't be *in* the alliance, because it's against the rules, but maybe we can talk about some deal where we help each other out and so on and maybe here's how it can work and blah blah blah. So, let's do this: I won't attack you this turn, and we can build trust, and over the next few moves we can talk about what we can do for each other." So, I didn't attack him, but BOOM, suddently its monkeys EVERYWHERE! Monkeys in the cave, monkeys on the warm rocks, monkeys yipping and hooting and whipping snakes around their heads like sad little lassoes. And then they'd break our jaws, just so people would think they were King Kong. But they're not, they're just hairy little monkey-men who ask to be in your alliance and then try to kill you some more. Ooh, that makes me angry!!! Oh, and here's a question. I notice that everyone wants to be helping the porcupines and their new "don't take it personally that we don't want you in our alliance--you aren't big and strong enough, but that's not a personal thing, it's more, sort of, who you are", but nobody wants to be helping our little Secret Alliance. Now, I understand that Porcupines is a really nice guy and he gave you people all kinds of free porcupines and all. But I'm a nice guy too, and I never made anybody's mom into a briefcase. So...you know... GO SA! yay! -- Acanthopis
