I no longer belong to any alliance. There will be no carry over animosity towards anyone including Arizona, the SA crowd or Hermis, etc. You'll have to earn my ill will once again should we ever meet. As Arizona pointed out, I did not alter my nation name before restarting immediately following the previous weekend. My bad. The Academia Times had notified me of the lost of my capital and the requisite loss of moves for that next turn. With all of three colleges left, it did not take much thought to punch out of the game with a reset right then. That's exactly what I did without changing my nation name. I corrected that as soon as the next news reports came out. Should there be any doubt or someone missing this diplo post, I have for good measure altered my leader's name and nation even further to emphasize the new beginning theme. I think that if one looks at where things stand, you will agree with me that Zabor is not so much a threat, as a large speedbump blocking my way to OckerBoy. Zabor hopes that the vehemence and initial success of his surprise attack will give him the momentum to get others on board in his battle. OckerBoy fights the same way: assuming that his junk-bond inspired technique of selling land for a temporary advantage of armies will allow him to overcome stronger opponents. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy, of course, that might work if you join him but is doomed to utter failure if you let our battle play out. But, while you're waiting to decide which bandwagon to jump onto, ponder this. Zabor has at least half of all of his armies currently committed to his little escapade. That means he has an average of about 10 units in each of the rest of his regions. I can match him pretty much army for army at the front, and still have more armies to defend my other borders than he has in his entire nation. There are two possibilities right now. 1) I am not adequately defended against his attack, which would mean that anybody else attacking me would face pretty serious opposition, or 2) I am adequately defended against him, which would mean that I could still have hundreds of armies elsewhere, but also that Zabor's attack will soon fizzle. Neither strikes me as a particularly good situation for bandwagon-jumpers. So, why am I bothering with this message, if I am so well-defended? Because, I'd like to profit off of Zabor's attack, and I'd like to follow up with a rout of OckerBoy (because he likes to hurt snakes). These are long-term goals, but I can't do that if I have a bunch of other nations attacking me. So I'm trying to convince you that my lunch is not quite as free as Zabor indicates, because I still plan on him being the main course. TS was a real threat, whose strength was based on an overwhelming array of force, expansion, and diplomacy. My hat goes off to them because they nearly pulled it off, and it took most of the world to unite against them to keep that from happening. SA is currently playing a spoiler role, whose glory days appear to be behind them, but who retain considerable strength. TI are a bunch of upstart wannabes whose empire is built on sand. Don't let that change. In fact you're the only snake I've met who struck first, and I have met a few. I know it looks like I've (especially to Arizona) sold real estate on the run but really (as it is now) the contract of sale had a long settlement date and the intervention and machination of others spilled into that settlement period, thus ruining the well laid plans. Anyway, you are confusing tactical 'opportunities' (ie us being attacked) for a lifestyle choice (old sales being finally completed) through their conicidence in time when they are on completely different tracks. Built on sand? Well, we are The Incompetents. That's probably why I am responding, just like you, the empty vessels ringing loud, you don't get Gregorious or Aachan sounding off very often. Of course the game is poorer for it I guess.
