Care to settle? ====================================================================== PE-WJ-Diplo [Arizona]: OckerBoy in a poke Date:Thu, 10 Nov 2005 10:50:39 +0000 To reply, log in at http://www.powersedge.net/?Page=Login or use your newspaper form. So you are kind of Aachan property now :) ====================================================================== PE-WJ-Diplo [James Howlett]: Political Savvy Date:Thu, 10 Nov 2005 15:18:33 +0000 To reply, log in at http://www.powersedge.net/?Page=Login or use your newspaper form. In one concise message you managed to make yourself look like an evil slave trader with delusions of grandeur and you cleared up that your alliance is just giving regions to Aachan so that he can seal off hostile borders for you and get easy access to lesser nations to wipe them out. Just in case it hasn't been made entirely clear, killing off the smaller nations just makes more region in crisis events happen. I don't think anyone really wants that. For all of you nations not involved in any of the battles going on lately or for anyone sitting on the fence, I think these words and actions speak very clearly and very loudly about what kind of people reside in the Secret Alliance and what kind of people choose to help them. I hope you all will rise up and make your voice heard. Now is the time for action. It was all so quite not so long ago... Now we have falling skies, name calling, and, dare I say it, even foul language (albiet masked...) Even various levels of open warfare!!! Arizona, even you must admit your message was arrogant and aggressive! Even with the smilie! Perhaps provoked, but none-the-less.... But your reply to James - both clever and maniacal at the same time!?!? I also found James message amusing - he does seem to have a way with words... Still, the underlying attitude you present may be detrimental to your position - beware your public words!!! To all the non-alliance leaders out there - there comes a time when you have to pick a side... SA, TS, yourself, another alliance - eventually this Universe will end in a Big Crunch, and you can be allied with the winners of this universe or not... I don't know who those winners will be, (cough, TS, cough :-) ) so keep watching closely and when your time comes to pick a side, pick well... But unless you have delusions of grandeur, don't let the universe end without choosing one side or the other! (This is intended to protect the privacy of other players.) ====================================================================== I would like to send message to non-alliance leaders as well. TS is an alliance that has four members, so the Iceman's proposal to ally with them is more than strange (maybe he meant something else). SA is not aggresive - TS started this war. Yes, I was stupid enough to present them with an excuse for this - for those that do not know, I was destroying weaklings. Ofcourse I have million excuses for this, but most of them have already been pointed out, so no need to repeat myself. Now regarding James. His messages amused me in the begining, iritated me in the middle and seem to leave me ignorant in the end. The morals he is standing for are nothing more than double standards. Attack someone (I attacked Ockerboy) and he will urge to destroy you ("in the name of justice"). Attack someone (ChickenLittle attacked Hermis by breaking peace treaty) and he finds it amusing (there is nothing wrong with breaking treaties in his morals). So James, I beg you - stop your demagogy. And in the end, I think this game is very intresting to play now because of this war. And if a new alliance would emerge it would be even more intresting. So non-alliance leaders unite and crush us. I don't know how it is in the rest of the world, but wisdom of my ancestors says: kur du pesasi, trecias laimi. (Where two fight, third becomes the winner). ====================================================================== PE-WJ-Diplo [Iceman]: Thanks Kalvis! (This is intended to protect the privacy of other players.) ====================================================================== Kalvis, et al.... Thanks for helping making my point - perhaps inadvertantly... While certainly I would accept and be delighted with all the non-aligned nations joining TS and helping to eliminate SA, that was not the intention of my diatribe - my intention was to get those same non-aligned nations to consider joining with either AS or TS in their positions, consider forming that third major alliance your refer to, or consider than standing idle isn't productive in this Universe... (No offense is intended here, Aachaan is merely an example... A good example for these purposes because of his size!) Take Aachaan for example... His size would allow either SA or TS to quickly move into a victory condition state. SA even has a slot left that could allow him to slip into their alliance! That's fine, and I'd certainly like him to consider his options... As I would all the other nations in this Universe... But - it IS an alliance game; an alliance is required to claim victory! Right now, there is only SA and TS which appear potentially able to eventually make that claim! A third major alliance would makes things even more interesting! Right now, I have not had a message from Aachaan since Turn-35, although I have sent him several. It *seems* that SA has had some contact with Aachaan, at least; that scares me! I *think* it's safe to assume that Aachaan is interested in his own claim to victory, however that turns out! If Aachaan was to form this third alliance, and we continue to beat each other up, he'll be able to pick over our depleted nations! Either SA or TS would require assistance to even survive... So, I wanted to make sure all the non-aligned nations thought these things out... It's also possible Aachaan's intentions are not victory, but longevity... He could eventually be in the position that no other nations or alliances could challenge him; forcing this Universe into a stalemate... That's an intriguing potential as well... However, since my 'read between the lines' message was for SA to consider these, that seems to have come through! Yes, the Universe is a more interesting place for our battles - who is right or wrong, agressor or not, etc. is moot and in the histories for any to interprut as they like - but TS was formed to win, SA was formed to keep TS from winning, and that third alliance will potentially be formed to crush us both! It's not only the non-aligned nations that need to pick well, it's ALL of us!!! Iceman ====================================================================== PE-WJ-Diplo [Iceman]: Remember...
