I wanted to let people know publicly that I have concluded a mutual
defense pact with Hermis. I will therefore consider an attack upon
Hermis to be an equivalent attack upon my own Snake Pits. This is a
defense pact, so neither of us is obligated to any action if the other
is the aggressor in the action. Our defense pact is effective
immediately, and in my mind supercedes any nonagression treaties that
I have concluded with other neighbors. Hence, if a neighbor attacks
Hermis, then I will consider myself free to attack that neighbor at my
earliest convenience, regardless of 5-turn pacts that I may have
concluded with them. Again, this is only the case if Hermis is the
defender and not the attacker. I am not aware of any current action
against Hermis, but if any attack orders have already been submitted,
then I will abide by nonagression treaties for attacks this turn since
people were not yet aware of my position (but expect an invasion in 5
turns if you don't turn back immediately).

I hope that is sufficiently legal to make things clear. If you have
questions, I would be glad to answer them. If people feel that it
would be easier to remember if we both put letters after our names,
then I suppose we could do that. Just send me a personal e-mail so as
to avoid flooding the airwaves.

While I have your attention, can't we have a little more war around
here? I'm getting really bored of sitting around losing regions to
random destruction, but I like all of my neighbors so I'm kind of in a
hard spot. If some weakling who I could easily eliminate would be so
kind as to attack me post-haste, I would be much obliged...
