Hello World,
I want to describe situation which is important to all of us. As many
of you know three members of TS attacked me and captured my regions. I
was alone and couldnt do anything. So I restarted. Several turns ago I
have got a border with James Howlett from TS. I told him that I am
ready to forget all harm that TS did to me and I offered a
non-aggression pact with 5 turns cancellation. But my offer was
rejected. His reasons were that he has to expand and I am good quarry.
But the thing is that I am not good quarry, because I have more then 3
mutual defense pacts and several supporters. But still I don’t
want war. I offered him my region with external connections, and even
to explore it because I have better chances to find independents. But
he haven’t even discussed this. He thinks that TS is unbeatable
and he can do whatever he wants. He doesn’t go to compromises
even when the facts are different then he thought. If James will
attack me, my friends will defend me, and they will not wait for 5
turns to cancel their peace treaties with TS, because we have mutual
defense pacts and after 5 turns there might be nothing to defend. I
have done everything to avoid this war, but James is too aggressive to
accept a peace treaty from a smaller nation.

Bantumi makes some pretty wild claims there.  He talks as if I've
threatened him and insulted him.  I was involved in the overtaking of
his last nation, and if you will recall the reason was because he kept
trying to extort units/regions from other leaders in exchange for
peace treaties.  I have run into him again, but no other leaders in my
alliance have.  The reasons for my aggression this time are far more
simple.  I am a rather large nation and have no further means of
expansion and I have run into a small nation not part of any public
alliance.  I have watched as the other large nations in this world
have torn apart small nations like Wild West in a matter of a few
turns so it's not like I would be the first leader to take an
aggressive course of action against a new, small neighbor.

I don't feel like any of that is the real issue though.  Bantumi and
at least one of his secret allies are under the false impression that
they can break peace treaties at any time without consequences.  They
feel their mutual defense treaty overrides the standard five turn
notice of cancellation peace treaty.  I hope that the rest of the
leaders in this world will not stand for that because the only way for
everyone to ensure that peace treaties are honored is if everyone
punishes those who break them.  I have told Bantumi that he should
create/join a public alliance.  Then if someone attacks him it would
be an attack on his whole alliance and they could all retaliate
freely.

Bantumi's claims that I think the TS alliance is unbeatable are
unfounded.  I can't really know how powerful the TS alliance is with
these secret alliances roaming about.  I do think our alliance has
proven to be honorable and upstanding though -- not the kind that
would break treaties.

I see few inaccuracies in James "truth" and I think it must be
cleared. 
In my last nation I had misunderstanding with Acanthopis, but we have
cleared it. There wasn't any (as James has named) extortion. James
says that he was involved in the overtaking, but he was the first who
attacked me and only next turn other members of TS joined him. So, I
have reason to think that he was initiator of invasion. Anyway, it was
unfair attack because there were three of TS attacking me and the
fourth was supplying units. But still I am ready to forget all harm TS
did to me and to live in peace. James, are you ready to forget your
aggressive nature and accept my peace treaty?

James says: "I have run into him again, but no other leaders in my
alliance have." They haven't because you are the only who have border
with me. But recently Iceman transferred about 100 units to your
region which have border with me. So, you arent attacking alone. 
Many nations seeing TS as aggressive alliance sign secret mutual
defense pacts. In most cases these pacts are only against TS. As
everybody saw that TS members never fight one on one, so we have to
defend ourselves. 
James, I hope you don't expect that other leaders (who feel danger
from TS) will sign pacts which are usable for you and TS.
I have informed you about my mutual defense pacts in private and in
public and you know that your peace treaties with my friends and
supporters will be repealed. Now it's your time to decide.

To all Leaders whom this message might concern...
Whether TS decides to continue with a declared hostility against a
specific nation is our business - but is certainly a very lmited
agression.  Many other nations border ours and have no problems or
hostilities...  I have very good border nations, and I have
non-agression pacts with most of my neighbors - they need not fear my
attack!
An alliance is specifically that - a group of nations that have agreed
to ally with one another...    War against one is war against all, and
my troops will help an ally if possible.  That's specifically the
nature of an alliance...  Bantumi suggests this is unfair - tough!  If
you don't like it, form your own alliance!!!
Oh wait - you seem to state that you HAVE formed a secret alliance... 
Perhaps this is true, perhaps it is a bluff...  There have indeed been
indications that it is true, and if so we accept the events.  However,
perhaps we should all follow the Rules and announce our alliances?!?! 
It seems to me that Rule 6 states that alliances must be declared?!?! 
So, Bantumi - annonuce your alliance members so that we might be on an
equal footing...
To all other nations; TS members are honorable and friendly, feel free
to talk to any of us at any time if you have questions or concers.  If
you don't wish to talk, you may be considered hostile, however...
