Hi everyone - 

Sorry about the prolonged absence!  We have been in a high state of anxiety here for the past several months due to the real estate crisis, the global stock markets tanking, and repeated strings of layoffs where my wife and I work.  On top of that we've had computer issues at home, the player registration system for the game is limping, and when we switched from Power's Edge to Webs of Power I didn't send out any advertising/publicity for the new site so our stream of new players has dried up.

I was CLOSE to just shutting the whole thing down...  But I am *NOT* going to do that!  There is a light at the end of every dark tunnel!  Webs of Power will continue.  

One thing is clear - the social aspect of the game is critical. We lost much of that when Tournament 2007 shut down and we didn't have a "high diplomacy" game running.

I'll announce the official start of Tournament 2008 (with some rules tweaks) after tonight's update.
