I am holding back her forces and getting help from some leaders but others such as The Watchers II seem to have no problem with the dishonorable actions of Leila. We exchanged promises to not attack each other until after turn 30 and she launched a four-pronged attack against my nation on turn 27. She then refused to respond to any of my messages and has never explained her actions. She continues to attack me and shows no remorse for breaking her word. In this world where we rely on the promises of other leaders such actions should not be accepted by anyone. This made all of your treaties null and void as you were no longer a leader in the world. You can't blame all the leaders you made angry for the resign button not working for that one turn. You got in trouble for violating the language filter in that world as well. Please try to be civil, let your past life go, and try to learn a lesson from it. Leila's actions also speak for themselves. Breaking treaties is unacceptable. And giving armies to those who do is just as dishonorable. Watchers' vulture behavior is not much better than Asterix who is giving away his armies to the nation that invaded him unannounced earlier and was the subject of much whining on Asterix's part. All because he holds a grudge against someone from a previous world. Look around--- Who would you rather have as your friend? Watcher should be quite wide open at the moment as he has given 80 to Looney and is pressing units toward -xXx- through Winston territory. Join us to rid this world of the dishonorable whining treaty breakers: Watchers, Leila Winston and Asterix. In fact you and your stooges had attacked me before Bob publicly confirmed information about my resignation. There was no solid evidence about it when you broke our treaty. My resume about xXx: - man who broke the treaty and attacked MonteC before the time he anounced himself, then lied about it to fool public oppinion, - agressor, who trying to find cannon-fodder nation to expose them under Watchers & Leila retribution strikes, while grab the lands from NBE. BTW, as I remember in the end of WI game you make a lucky shot againts Watchers. He also was going to resign or what is the reason of that agression? Are you sure you have not broke any agreemnets with him? I doubt about it. Since we are talking about past, I also could remember Balzar's mad rush. Of course you will say you have formed a new nation and have no relations with it... But not dumb us, the ruler are the same and I hardly believe he will defect from his agressive habbits. You could write here anyhing you want, but it's you, who have attacked NBE, not vice versa. So it was in all the cases. To Tzu Doh Nam (shortly) Please, reread your previous message and try to find any logic there. I failed... And the second point - you have promised to share the land you grab from NBE. I didn't see you gave a single region to anybody. May be you also lied about your real intentions? I don't understand how such a grudge can come from actions that occured after he announced he was resigning. It wasn't Bob who announced the resignation, it was MC himself.... I don't get it. Some people just like to be mad I guess. Anyway, In support of myself, I have at the moment, two regions taken from NBE(total of 4 production). I have cooperated with others and given regions to make my friends equal to me as promised. Asterix: look at the facts before you blindly accuse. -xXx- did NOT attack NBE just because he was weak and had easy regions to obtain. In fact we had discussed (though not agreed upon details of) working together even before I attacked NBE. We have been working toegther all along since that time. there is nothing wrong with helping an honorable ally in battle is there? I repeat that Leila has really pulled a doosey with her attack 3 turns before a treaty was to be renewed. she has made no explanation of this action. Watchers is now supporting her very strongly and this is a big mistake. It is not honorable to support a treaty breaker. Watchers should at least be helping his friends learn the proper ettiquette that he preaches to his enemies about. Again, you decide: who would you want to be friends with? (This is intended to protect the privacy of other players.) ====================================================================== Tzu's latest screeds first called the Watchers vultures and later called the Watchers, Asterix, and myself treaty breakers. Exactly which treaties does he think we broke? The only treaty I can think of is the one they would have liked me to sign in which I sit back and wait for the two of them to destroy my nation and share the wealth of my counties. As far as the vulture claim, I invited the Watchers to enter my territory to aid me in repelling the invasion by Tzu and -xXx-. I am more then content with the arrangements I have made with him with regard to my counties and see nothing vulturine in his behavior. I would contrast the Watchers actions with those of Tzu and -xXx-; who attacked my nation without provocation because it was productive and because they thought they could get away with it. Tzu and -xXx- talk a lot about treaties and end dates and notice and similar statements. I was not a party to any discussions between Leila and -xXx-. I have no knowledge of what treaties she may or may not have made and what the terms might have been. Tzu and -xXx- want you to focus on these supposed treaties as if they are the most important thing. All to avoid discussing the fact that they are the aggressors in this war. Treaties are not the measure of honor or trustworthiness. One builds trust through actions and deeds, not words on paper. Leila has come to the aid of a nation victimized by the aggressive actions of -xXx- and Tzu. That is an honorable action and one to be proud of. So I will ask other nations the same question as Tzu. Who would you rather have as a neighbor? Two nations who chose a victim and attacked as early as possible, gambling that they could defeat him before others were able to organize; or nations who have come to the aid of a beleaguered land and have thrown their armies in to repel the invasion. Direct email replies do not go to the sender. (This is intended to protect the privacy of other players.) ====================================================================== [ I wrote this last night, but was undecided whether to send it. However, since my name is now being dragged unjustly through the mud, I think I have an obligation to speak up at least once. On the other hand, I think there very few nations who have not taken sides at this point, so the whole debate seems rather pointless. ] There are different types of honor and dishonor being discussed here. xXx apparently feels no qualms about Tzu's sneak-attack on Churchill, or his own sneak-attack on the weakened Churchill after all that nation's forces were diverted to face Tzu. If honor is about words and laws and not breaking agreements, then his invasion is perfectly okay. It's clear from the results that xXx's successfully prevented a fair fight from taking place between Tzu and Churchill, and as a result he and Tzu were very cheaply capturing the bulk of Churchill's production by attacking where Churchill's defenses were weakest. But to my mind, with or without an agreement, such a sneak invasion without any real cause, or any public warning whatsoever, is a cheap stab in the back, if you ask me. What's the difference between that action and the situation where two thugs mugged someone on the street? And, if that happened, I asked myself, would you help the thugs, or the victim? What if one of the thugs was someone you knew? Would it matter whether you'd made an agreement not to fight that person for at least a few more days? On the other hand, Leila exited an agreement with xXx 3 turns early, in order to help a friend in dire need. Churchill was about to expire, and pleaded for Leila and I to help as soon as possible. We both agreed to help. Some claim that it is dishonorable for Leila to break her agreement. Because my own people believe strongly in not going to war without due notice (and we did give notice ourselves), I have to say that I see some merit in the claim. However, remaining true to one's conscience takes precedence over remaining true to one's word. I believe strongly that Leila had just cause for her actions and that she gained more honor in risking herself and marching to a friend's aid, than she would have had if she had blindly upheld her agreement with a nation (xXx) that was about to pick her friend's carcass clean (and grow very fat in the process). So yes, if any of you are planning to mug another nation, or to sneak-attack someone who's heavily engaged in honorable combat elsewhere, you should fear that Leila might break her word on an agreement. But if you ask me, that doesn't say anything bad about Leila. Although I'd prefer that she give warning next time, it's pretty clear to me from the remarkably negative tone of this debates that I'd rather have her on my side than those who are outspokenly accusing her. Finally, I want to comment that the timing of xXx's message was suspicious to me, considering that I had just rejected his offer to establish a truce line and divide up the spoils of Churchill (which, not coincidentally, would free up his forces and Tzu's to concentrate on eliminating Leila). I found his offer most dishonorable (within my own sense of honor), and that was a strong motivating factor in my decision to lend Leila a large force last turn. But I guess when xXx couldn't turn me, he decided to go public and see who else might fall under his spell. I will not comment on the remarks by Asterix, who has his own crosses to bear. I hope the handful of you who are not already on our side will join us in actively opposing the aggressor nations, xXx and Tzu. But do give notice or at least avoid taking action until your current agreements expire, so we can avoid more of these pointless debates!
