====================================================================== PE-QS-Diplo [Jon Snow]: Re: Definition of Evil Date:Sun, 27 Jul 2003 22:56:07 +0000 To all of the goodly leaders of the world, I have just returned from my exorcism seminar and I am feeling more confident and justified in my fight against evil than I ever have before. My nation had decided to ignore the recent message sent out by the demon spawn and their unholy leader Balthazar but I feel I should say one last thing before I close my ears permanently against the sugar coated tongue of the devil. The only contact I ever received from the demon spawn was very short and it informed me that the foul beings would be taking an independent region I had just discovered. The demon spawn had discovered it the turn before so based on my international policy they had rights to claim it. I was still preparing my armies for their impending fight against evil but was not ready for a conflict so I sent Balthazar a message that let him know I accepted his claim and told him how many units to expect. He attacked the next turn and failed to take the region and didn't try again. When my time came to strike I decided to go and bring these valiant independents who stood against the demon hordes into my nation. Perhaps they had some secrets to fighting the forces of evil that I could learn and use in my battle. Balthazar never contacted me for any other reason. I got one sentence from him saying he was taking an independent that I had just found. He didn't even justify his claim but I did the research and found out for myself. I had no treaties of any kind nor would I ever make any with the likes of demon spawn. These unholy creatures were sent to this world from the land of the dead where they torment lost souls and have come here to destroy every living ounce of good they find. The ancient texts my librarian has found even give reference to the evil Balthazar and his past attempts to destroy the forces of good in the world and bring it under demonic control. I hope all of you can see past the lies that Balthazar has told and the ones I'm sure he has yet to tell. His words sound of honey but stink of treachery to me. His evil should be obvious to everyone as there are no good demons and never have been. Winter is coming to the demon spawn, Jon Snow ====================================================================== PE-QS-Diplo [The First]: Re: Definition of Evil Date:Mon, 28 Jul 2003 18:36:50 +0000 All, I feel that I must speak to this topic as I believe that my nation is directly affected by the current war between Jon Snow and Balthazar. Snow states that he is attacking Balthazar because of a perceived "evil". I have no problem with this reasoning for war, however I do find fault in how Snow has perceived the evil. The only evidence I've seen presented for Balthazar's evil is his name and his nation's name. In my limited discussions with them, Snow and Balthazar has both struck me as honorable and ordinary leaders no different from the other leaders I've spoken with. However, Snow's unprovoked attack on Balthazar for reasons relating to his names leads me to only one conclusion. Considering my nation's name has the word "Dark" in it, logic dictates that if Snow is successful in destroying Balthazar he will surely attack me next. Therefore it would be foolish for me to sit idle while a fellow "evil-named" nation falls victim to a lunatic's crusade and said lunatic gains strength to use against me later. Fortunately for Snow, I do not yet share a border with him and cannot directly come to Balthazar's aid. Instead, I ask all leaders of the world to judge according to actions rather than names and oppose Snow's aggression. Any assistance that you can provide would be greatly appreciated by myself and I'm sure by Balthazar as well. Thank you... The "not-so-evil" First ====================================================================== PE-QS-Diplo [Jon Snow]: The final piece falls in place Date:Mon, 28 Jul 2003 19:00:11 +0000 When my nation first discovered the demon spawn I began preparing for war. It has nothing to do with lunacy or expansionism. My people have fought against the forces of evil since the beginning of our recorded history and we will continue to do so. I can't honestly think that any intelligent leaders in this world will believe that Balthazar is actually just some nice fellow and that "demon spawn" is just a playful nickname for his troops. If you choose to claim the name of a powerful demon and then also claim to lead armies of demon spawn then you must be prepared to battle the forces of good. Long ago my scouts informed me that The First of The Dark Legions was actually allied with the demon spawn. I was hoping that there was some other explanation for this leader's name but upon further research my librarian tells me that "The First" is the name given to the most powerful demon and it is this demon's responsibility to try to upset the balance of good and evil in the world. He is basically in charge of organizing all demonic activity on the surface world. I did not want to openly accuse The First of this but he has made it obvious that my librarian was correct. The First and Balthazar may try to claim that they are not really evil but I trust the insightfulness of the other leaders in this world to see past their lies. We now have two confirmed nations of evil in the world. My nation is sworn to fight against the forces of darkness and will do so as long as possible to give the other goodly nations time to prepare their armies. I can only hope that those leaders who stand for the side of good can set aside their other conflicts and possibly even cancel treaties with these evil nations (upon realizing what they really stand for) and help my armies to rid the world of these foul demons that have become so prevalent. May the light triumph over the dark, Jon Snow ====================================================================== PE-QS-Diplo [The First]: RE: The "final" piece Date:Mon, 28 Jul 2003 20:17:46 +0000 I have the distinct feeling that any leader who opposes, disagrees with, or simply appears vulnerable to Jon Snow will suddenly become a horrible blood-thirsty demon. What will we see next? Evil demon-possessed entrepreneurs from Atlanta? Horrible demon-cowboys from the wild west? Heck, I'm sure even Hobbits and Persians could be found to be evil sometimes. And hey, Bane sounds sorta like an evil name too. I humbly request from Jon Snow a complete list of the "evil" nations in this world, so that I know who my "allies in evilness" are. Something tells me this list would be very dynamic and ever-changing, depending on who Snow is preparing to ambush at the moment. The First ====================================================================== PE-QS-Diplo [Jon Snow]: Take heed good leaders Date:Mon, 28 Jul 2003 20:32:50 +0000 Notice how aggravated and venomous The First's words have become after I revealed to everyone that he is really the main leader behind the demonic forces in this world. Notice how quickly he tries to turn goodly nations against one another through fear and lies. I know of only two nations of evil in this world. I hope that there is only the two. Just to humor The First, I know that the hobbits, cowboys, and entrepreneurs from Atlanta of this world are not evil as I have had communication from all of them and learned of their nations' pasts. I also know that Bane consults the moons to aid him in leading his nation and that he is also not evil. Are there any other goodly nations you would like to try to turn against me, demon? ====================================================================== PE-QS-Diplo [Jon Snow]: A Clarification Date:Mon, 28 Jul 2003 20:40:44 +0000 I have not actually met Ted Turner in this world yet but my researchers have given me reports on his achievements and I am certainly impressed with his humanitarian acts and am quite sure he is on the side of good. I didn't want Mr. Turner to be offended if it seemed I was claiming to know him when we actually haven't communicated yet. ====================================================================== PE-QS-Diplo [Scherazade]: The 3 Princesses of Felaz Date:Wed, 30 Jul 2003 00:13:13 +0000 Once upon a time there were three princesses who ruled the land of Felaz after the death of their father. Their kingdom was weak and they knew they needed the support of other nations if they were to prosper. The eldest daughter announced that she would wed to secure the future of the realm. Many suitors came to woo her, and she picked a handsome prince, whose words were sweet and who promised to honor her and protect the land of Felaz. But after the wedding, he took his bride and her dowry to his own land and the sisters never saw her again. The middle sister was determined not to make the same mistake as the eldest. She reasoned that a handsome prince, one who speak sweet words and makes grand promises is too vain and self-important to trust. So she looked over the suitors and chose an older king, one who was less then handsome, some would even say he was ugly. He had no gift of poetry, no great words of praise and made no extravagant promises She felt that he would be a reliable king, one who would protect her and the land of Felaz. But alas, after the wedding, the king took his bride back to his country, where he proceeded to ignore her and resumed his old ways. The youngest daughter was now pressed to marry. Learning from her sister's mistakes, she chose a different path. Disguising herself as a maid, she went among her suitors and watched them, to see how they behaved to each other and to the common people around them when not trying to make an impression. Soon her attention fell upon a prince, not as young and handsome as some, but with an even temper, a sense of humor, and who treated all as if they were noble regardless of their station. This man she married and together ruled Felaz and saw it prosper. We hear the words of Jon Snow, full of talk of good versus evil, of protecting the other nations of the world. We hear of Balthazar, with soldiers named after demons. The First sends messengers expressing hopes of peace and friendship. Which one is good and one we should see as a friend and protector? Which one is evil and to be feared? We will learn from the story of the three princesses and watch and wait and see how these nations act towards each other and towards the nations who are not involved in their war. Then we can choose which rulers we will ally with. Scherazade
