Mendeleev, thanks for chiming in, and glad to hear you are still well...  reports of your demise appear to have been greatly exaggerated!  I hear tidings that the Black Eagle Barony remains loyal to Goth, while Goth clings to control of Gallifrey ... and both remain in a grinding war with my own nation, gaining ground slowly but steadily against me.  I realize they have done no wrong to you, but as I am greatly outnumbered and outproduced, my hour of need has arrived.  Will you come to my aid and join in the war at last?  If you will not, it will not mean war between us, but I will need to seek a more vigorous ally.  Lord Ivan wishes to get into the action... and has threatened to join either side as he chooses, though perhaps mostly his own!  I fear that if you cannot assist me, I must trust to Ivan.  (Though I am not certain how long such an alliance would last, I am confident that for a while, it would keep the Goths and Eagles from chewing me up quite so fast, and quite possibly result in a turning of the tide... but no gains for you.)  

[ Real Life:  Please let us know if you're ready to join in the fight, or just want to sit peacefully on the sidelines for a while. I'm confident that if you don't want to fight, Ivan will join in.  If you do want to fight, perhaps Ivan could be gracious enough to take up arms against all of us for a while?  Or Ivan could ally with you and I could take up the Lone Warrior role, while trying to bring one of our new players to full strength as my ally...]

To whom it may concern....
I hereby formally rescind all offers of war.  If anyone takes me up on my previous offer regarding Turn 209, then I will retain a war footing with that Leader temporarily.  Otherwise, it looks like two great alliances have formed and will be left to battle in this Universe.  These two sides are evenly matched, and only one side may prevail.  It is now my intention to simply see who wins.
I will, of course, remain to challenge the winner!  If willing, I would be happy to have Sean Thiebault and/or cancertoe as allies in this endeavour.
(I apologize if this really messes anyone up!!!)

Ivan, you are wise to stay out of this conflict. We have nothing against
you for your earlier war against the Time Lords when Borusa was in
power. We would be happy for you to join with us at any time.
