Flowers lost 175 units, Capitalists 84, and UniNet 220. That's a lot of units involved on this turn, with the Flowers showing their hand more than the others. Of 913 units UniNet fought with, 259 were destroyed. Compared to 494 units used by UniNet, with a loss of 220, I can not say that I am displeased! We now know exactly where 558 Flower remaining units are located, and it appears they may be (finally) attempting to make good on their threat regarding UniNet 4. While they might actually be able to make good on this threat, it will be expensive! Recommendation is to allow the attempt, then cut off and kill the advance force! The Capitalists remain an enigma. Despite their statement of subdued capitulation, they continue to harry our positions. While showing only one fifth of their forces, knowledge from previous encounters means we know where an additional 240 or so units sits. It is safe to assume that other borders are probably ill defended, and the Capitalists have made a logical choice that the Flowers are preoccupied so they have a period of relative safety. While this could allow the Flowers to take advantage of the Capitalist positions in high value areas, subtly should keep the Flowers from gaining an advantage while we reposition our forces. Recommendation is to allow their advance for now and combine the defence forces to allow them to push to far to exact retribution effectively, countering when their forces are sufficiently weakened. Against either force we have a numerical advantage. Both units and production are in our favor. Unfortunately, if attacked by a combined force, we are at an extreme disadvantage. A defensive posture should be maintained for the period leading up to the Break, allowing time to bring forces into alignment with the aggressors. Loss of territory and production would be sacrificed to destroy enemy units, ultimately leading to a true numerical advantage and further advancement potential. The Second Expansion could be allowed to collapse, as was the Mapping Expedition, again creating numerical borders between the Flowers and the Capitalists. It is unlikely in the present climate that either force could gain numerical advantage that would allow a victory condition without failure of a tacit alliance. Recommendation - defence, defence, defence - attempt to force infighting between the enemy forces. It may be necessary to ultimately bring the core forces into the fray if things go awry!! UniNet Aggregator (build 895497) Leaked by Julian Assange, founder of WikiLeaks! [RL - all stats of unit numbers are as correct as I could make them. Everything else, well, that's why they call this diplomacy! I did think this was a good message, using current real life circumstances to 'leak' information that may or may not be valid.... Some is true, some is patently false, some is maybe, and all is purely in the fun and spirit of the Game! smilie] WP-09-Diplo [Sunshine]: dear sunshine Date:Thu, 02 Dec 2010 02:09:18 +0000 To reply, log in at http://www.websofpower.com/?Page=Login or use your newspaper form. From the archives here, my historians here pulled some of my predecessor's narratives from our own nations heights of glory, and it is much the same... units engaged, units destroyed, net favorable casualties... I regret that there were any casualties at all last turn, as my hard working people regained our former territory at Whitney. Same for the turn before, as we moved back into Freemasons. We are not permanently attached to all our lines of work, but masonry and cotton-spinning are rather fundamental occupations even in the cyber age! The news about U-haul also brought a familiar sound to my ears, but there are many means of transportation... if the flowers want to fight with the cyborgs over that, well, it means little to us. These two are patterns I have seen lately, but other patterns are also apparent to me, though perhaps I cannot see all the patterns which the flowers perceive. Are Grid-lings bachelors, and do they get lonely? If a flower fell in the garden, but only cyborgs were there to record an audio signal from it, would it make a sound? If, if if...
