That's fine with me: I don't want him to win either. Mr. Money Man, all I ever really wanted off there by Flood Control Dam was chickweed and forget-me-not back. You'll notice that I never attacked FCD even when I had the chance (and I think I have the chance again, as it happens). If you're cool with me having the gardens, I'm cool with you keeping control of the water, but you should know that my 250 gardeners will fight hard for those gardens because they're really pretty. If we need to, we'll fight for 1 infinite loop because it's a much easier place to defend, but hopefully we're all good there. Mr. Computer thingy: please stop tromping on my gardens. Your antigravity stuff isn't working, and it's making me angry. Don't think that you have nearly enough armies to hold OFF LIMITS if you make me angry, even when your two groups converge. While I had plans of remaining quite for just a few turns, we've had two major failures in our backup system at work recently, and since I am the primary backup admin it was up to me to fix the problems! One was a hardware failure in the library - we added two new enclosures and two new tape drives, and that took our entire library offline! Yuck - wasn't to bad, only about 35 hours OT.... The second was a software failure during an upgrade from TSM5.4 to TSM 6.2, db insert failure actually, which required us to back out of the upgrade - only about 22 hours of OT because I almost shut down mentally! Way to much high level emergency stuff over a short period of time!!! Anyway, I have the library fully functioning again (bad brand new parts was a big problem!) and we'll make another attempt to upgrade the software in the future. My mental state is almost back to normal - and maybe, just maybe, I'll finally get some training in the system so I can administer it properly! (smilie!) At the very least I'm getting my evenings back - no more babysitting the backup system all night long! YEAH! During all of this I managed to to keep this game at least going, but the others have been pretty lax! But, I hope to be able to devote enough time to WoP in the upcoming weeks to get/keep everything on track! So, since I have just told you all of this, you'll understand if my next message, in character, doesn't flow quite properly! While I know I could make it work under the circumstances, it wouldn't flow right with what has come before and I'd like to just start somewhat fresh and see if I can make it all fit together later.... The Capitalists are indeed finally being less hampered by sprites except in those areas still under contention. The almost 1000 sprites necessary to hold the borders have ceased their aggressive activities. We hope to finally see the Capitalists make good on their suggestion of capitulation! Now, the weeds have been attempting, either purposefully or accidentally, to corrode data connections though the use of high salt fertilizers. As much as they seem to like the flowers, we dislike the green corrosions on our nice shiny copper! Please cease and desist using these fertilizers and we will investigate other methods of keeps our pathways clean. We would like to point out, especially to the Capitalists, the inherent desperation and paranoia in the weeds latest message. First funny conclusions are drawn. Then some rationalizations and an attempt to withdraw from aggressions despite still making threats. Finally a threat against ourselves. Perhaps the weeds have overextended their growth cycle and no longer have full control over their faculties?!?! I just wanted to let you know that, with only three people playing here, I'm sure we can work something out if one of us ever needs a little time. We had some travel for work, and a bunch of late nights (either myself or my spouse). If you happen to read about the National Ignition Facility, well, I'm all tied up in that right now. (Hee hee -- If you see any pictures of miniature stars, you can think of me and make a wish!) Meanwhile, we're going to be on travel through next Saturday, visiting grandparents for American Thanksgiving. I'm expecting to be able to keep up with the moves, but may not be finding much time for roleplaying until the 28th... For Thanksgiving, perhaps I'll just be thankful not to be everyone's permanent punching bag for a few turns? In character: The Waters of the mighty river have shifted course, and the floodplains beyond the Flood Control Dam are now high and dry, as the river flows in another direction. Enough blood has been spilled to keep the fields fertile for years to come! Though it was our blood that made the fields fertile, and our hands that tilled those fields for many a year, today they are not our fields. But the Universe is out of balance, and for the men of industry and talent, there are many fronts to defend, too few to defend them, and too many lands still in ruins. There is too much to do, so for now we will simply flow with the Waters of Fate, and let the Sands of Time decide the future.
