A new bug has been found - elimination will require patience! Code cycles have become increasingly frustrating as we near the Beta, yet persistence is key. Release Candidate is in the planning stages, but Golden Master has not yet been contemplated. During recent open source searches, several junior coders found a great deal of sun - thinking that meant a day at the beach, some were destroyed by photonic overexposure.... While expectations were that cloud cover would lift at some point, this surprising level of sun spot activity may portend in new increase in solar activity in the near future. Have all junior coders be aware of increased spf mandates. Phishing the Universal Interconnects has revealed a subtle but dangerous characterization of the Code as malicious or even viral! Their own secret reports show capitalistic societies fearful but aggressive, perhaps even communistic in their approaches. Noting the weakness of the sun on corporate 'high hills' it is hoped that the cloud patterns return to what they once were, and green fields replace environmentally damaging mega factories. It should also be noted that the weather is a fickle beast, capable of turning to and back without a word of warning.... Hope should not preclude subroutines capable of applying sun block wherever necessary! [Ivan - hey guys, since we all know one another, I didn't think these personal notes were to out of line; let me know if they shouldn't be here!!! Despite plans of being away this weekend, a 'super secret' 'only what you need to know' thing came up at work, and I have been dutifully doing my part ALL weekend.... Luckily, for you guys (smilie), this means I get to put in the diplomatic message this turn, rather than remain silent! The individual pieces of my particular actions in this affair are in 20-45 minute chunks, but there are a lot of them!!! (sad smilie) Bob, a feature request for when you get back to programming of the game; I'd like to have the individual territories have an option for fight, feint, or fly.... Simply stated, fight would be to the death (like when a territory has no links to retreat to), feint would be the default and like it is now, and fly would be a very quick retreat if attacked.... I have wanted the two new options various times during this game! I don't think these should be attack options though; well perhaps the fight option.... Also, I loved that diplomatic message!!! Fun to play off of! I should have more from that message in the future too! This give and take between us recently has been food for thought! Dave, the (not so subtle) suggestion you engage is either to your benefit or mine, not withstanding how you may engage.... Well, unless you attack Bob, that would be to my benefit and possibly yours.... Either way, my suggestion is simply to find out where you have troops if you do engage me, so take that for what it's worth! (BIG smilie) Finally, it was always my intention for my character to get more talkative as the game progressed, so my recent messages are in the plan. Admittedly, the change from low man on the pole to equal partnership in the Final Battle changed things a bit (THANKS guys!) and you guys killing off EXP just as he was starting to be able to speak in common tongue messed up my play for awhile.... Having fun, and the diplomacy is the best part....] WP-09-Diplo [Sunshine]: hugs Date:Mon, 19 Apr 2010 01:34:34 +0000 To reply, log in at http://www.websofpower.com/?Page=Login or use your newspaper form. Don't mind me, I'll be in the back digging some new beds. Hugz, Sunshine
