(This is intended to protect the privacy of other players.) ====================================================================== Dear Programmer and Sunshine - We propose (and believe this is in line with what Sunshine is thinking) a 3-way war, which will be started by consent, after we shuffle regions (and possibly some units) to equalize resources (production, units, and regions in that order of priority) among our three nations! Between us we have 100 regions, so we should each end up with 33-34 regions. Between us we have 380 production, so we should each end up with 127 or so. Between us To make this happen, Sunshine and I need to transfer to Programmer the following: 1) 9 regions from each of us. (We will then have 33 each, and Programmer 34.) 2) 12 net production from Sunshine and 30 production from me. (This may be tricky, so Sunshine and I may invest in building up some of our regions' production, and we'll revisit the regions and production as we go... the point is to end up in balance, not to meet the predefined quotas...) 3) About 200 units each... to be finalized at the end. With a bit of luck, we can make these arrangements within a few turns, and hopefully begin the Ultimate War on Turn 100 or soon after! To get the ball rolling, I offer to Programmer these regions: Seuss: production of 2 plus 1 = 3, and a connection to Sunshine. Butterfly Bush: production of 2 plus 2 = 4, and a nearby connection to Sunshine. canada wild rye: production of 3 plus 1 = 4. marigolds: production of 3 plus 2, and a separate connection to Sunshine. These are available immediately. I am hoping to open up another connection or two to facilitate further region swaps... However, I have a problem: there is no way that I can give away 9 regions and have it equal anything like 12 production. I generally improve regions except in the heat of war (it gives me something to do), so I have only two regions in my entire nation with only one production. Thus, I think that Programmer may end up with slightly fewer regions from me. That's a nice advantage for him--I like to have as few regions as possible, all else equal. Anyway, Adam, is there a way that Programmer can come through to Stomp or Shooting Star or even Silly ponies? That region is where all of my relatively low-productivity regions lie, so I should probably give him a bunch in there. It's too bad, really--I had a whole bunch more units in Stomp than you were aware of, and was planning quite an amusing foray from there. I couldn't decide whether to head for Xerox or go feeling around for your capital, but it would have been a good time. Now I will have to reconsider all that. One last thing--we need to all agree that there will be no more collusion between any pair from here on out. Collusion will just make things messy. I would be willing to agree to only making public statements (rather than send any personal inquiries) if that sounds good to everyone. -- Sunshine
