Here's my problem: Kelly Johnson is driving me crazy. Not because he's beating me--he caught me by surprise when I should never have been trusting him, and so I fully deserve to be wiped from the planet. I'm totally OK with that. What's driving me crazy is his constant requests for peace. For those of you who weren't paying attention, he launched an unannounced attack on me, which I countered, and then he asked publicly for peace. I accepted, and two turns later he sent some 250 units into my lands. What was I thinking, right? Right. But here's the problem--every turn after that, he's been trying to get me to agree to peace. I explained very patiently the first time, that after once agreeing to peace and getting slammed, that just wasn't going to happen, and that he and I would have to fight until one of us (looks like me) was dead. He asked a few more times, and I pointed out that, while I could hope to use a "peace treaty" to do to him what he did to me, I always announce my attacks and just wasn't going to go there. Since I could never trust a treaty, there really was no point. But, people, he keeps talking to me. So, the latest happened this turn, when he sent me a query beginning "Must we continue?" and offering me peace so that I could defend against Prenthenil and Frodo and all those guys. He ended by saying that, in order to let me think about it, he'd hold off attacks this turn. Well, of course I figured this was more bunk, but I found it pretty funny when he attacked me this turn just like other turns. I mean, why use words if they hold no relationship with meaning? What I'm asking is this: can you help me shut this guy up? You can keep attacking me and taking my lands, and I hold no ill-will, since indeed I asked for this fight with most of you. But this Kelly Johnson guys is, literally, pathological. That he currently holds the top production is an affront to all that is right and good about a nice simple war. Thanks for listening! Just the facts, according to my records... First of all, I had not sent a message to Hayduke since Turn 32 until the final message he badly attempts to quote... That message was simple - I wanted to find a way out of completely decimating Haydukes organization. It was also the very last time I mentioned that there might actually be peace between us. I have only sent a total of two or three since Turn 30. The previous Turn (36) I did send a final plea... To quote the opening of that message, quote Must we continue... Is oblivion your only consolation... End quote. Again, I have no interest in the utter destruction of one who, at least at one time, held the Earth in high regard. Finally, I never stated I would not attack this turn. I did state I would make no major attacks against him this turn, note the use of the word major - and I made one minor attack. More than 100 highly organized troops were ready to make several other attacks - but those highly trained forces did as ordered and held their ground. Now, regarding the confusion that Hayduke has been suffering from, that I had initially offered peace before actually introducing myself to him. This never happened. Skunk Works was officially run by the Dissident at that time. Troops loyal to myself, the legitimate operator of the Organization, were mobilized to convince Hayduke that he needed to rethink his axis position. He then spoke with the Dissident who offered peace, without even understanding what had happened... All messages from Skunk Works are properly signed; to avoid confusion in the future it is suggested that Mr. Hayduke actually read and understand messages he has been sent previously before making any new accusations which can be shown to be without merit in the Court of Universal Reason. However, at his request, the only contact we will have from now on will be that on the battlefield... Perhaps, as he suggested on Turn 30 in a public message, his bed making is getting a little sloppy and its no longer very comfortable... Interesting how much bravado he had then, when his only REAL enemy was the Retired Warlords - a smallish almost decimated organization... Now that he is in a similar position, is that a shill in his voice... And, Mr. Hayduke, fear not, I will not be able to maintain my spot on the top of the leader board for much longer... Having been attacked myself with 296 on this Turn, I will have to spend my time regrouping for a defensive effort before regaining an offensive footing. This is how a warrior would respond, not a blanket whine to have an entire Universe attempt to quote shut this guy up end quote or some such thing... After you have reviewed previous messages and have determined that you totally misrepresented the amount messages passing between us, I will accept your apology... The attack in the message is to the game persona, as I took the message from Hayduke... I, personally, am enjoying the game play - and while not going the way I expected (so many ideas that will not get realized! :-( ) it is certainly an entertaining game so far... Even if I am about to get an a.. kicking... ;-) ]
